5G Mini MBA is a 5-day course designed to get participants up to speed with the key 5G competency areas required for success in the 5G industry.

Participants will learn about  key 5G technical areas,  digital transformation, IoT, autonomous driving and 5G, network slices, SDN/NFV, product, financial, marketing, branding and leadership skills needed to thrive and contribute effectively toward your business.

Organizations need to understand that the 5G four years ago is not the same 5G now or the 5G expected to appear in 2024.

The initial 5G technology that rolled out in 2019 was met by a wall of issues – everything from infrastructure challenges to resistance from municipalities to grant necessary construction permits. Consequently, carriers had to deliver a watered-down, hybrid 5G that leaned heavily on older 4G technology.

Throw in a global pandemic, and it’s fair to say that 5G did live up to its promise in the first few years.

The situation improved with the emergence of standalone(SA) 5G, an implementation of 5G that solely uses a 5G core network, meaning it has no dependency on 4G LTE network control functions, for signaling and data transfer.

At-scale, 5G SA delivers lower costs for wireless carriers, a better user experience, and supports new use cases – a much closer representation of what 5G technology was supposed to accomplish in the first place.

Analysts contend that the next itineration of 5G, 5G-Advanced really is the 5G technology originally touted by carriers. And it will be here soon.

5G-Advanced is expected to enable a new level of RAN intelligence and automation through standardized support for AI/ML. 5G-Advanced will also use AI to enhance network energy efficiency, load balancing and mobility management.

Basically, 5G-Advanced will encompass a long list of technological enhancements aimed at enabling or improving a variety of use cases – all while making mobile networks more efficient and intelligent.

A big improvement should occur in uplink connections. 5G promised faster download speeds for mobile users. 5G-Advanced focuses more on the uplink – how fast users can upload data. That’s important because there are a lot of use cases that need faster uplink such as consumer applications like live video streaming on handheld devices.

Also, enterprise applications like video surveillance for security can make use of more centralized video processing capabilities by uploading the video to the network.

5G-Advanced should also strengthen support for augmented reality and virtual reality, which have both consumer and business use cases.

5g Mini-MBA Capstone Project

The Capstone Project is intended to be the final pieces of a Mini MBA participant to incorporate concepts learned throughout the Mini MBA program to address a strategic challenge facing a host organization. The Capstone Project’s final written document and formal presentation to the organization’s key contact(s) must show that the participant has:

• Significantly applied concepts
• Demonstrate their ability to collect and analyze primary and/or secondary data from relevant and credible sources.
• Fully addressed the agreed-upon issue and provided novel recommendations that the organization can use in their ongoing work and/or decision making; and
• exhibited excellent academic and professional standards.
• All projects will be done in conjunction with a host organization.
